Dhadak Review!! Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar's film is a good one time watch for its good first half.
Dhadak is an official remake of most popular Marathi film Sairat Directed by Nagraj Manjule. Sridevi's daughter Jahnvi kapoor and Shahid Kapoor brother Ishaan Khattar are making their debut with this romantic drama produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shashank khaitan.
Plot -
It is set in the picturesque city of Udaipur, Dhadak is the story of Madhukar (Ishaan) and Parthavi (Jahnvi). When they met, they fall in love at first sight. When an upper caste and rich girl falls in love with a lower caste poor boy, her family decides that she must be separated from him at all costs to save their family name!!
What's hot -
The first half of the movie is engaging and the screenplay is pacy and intriguing. Shashank Khaitan's direction is good as always!! He is one of the main USP of this movie. Dhadak title track is one of the best thing in the movie!! Ishaan Khattar have done a great job as Madhukar.
What's not -
One of the negative thing of Dhadak is that it is remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat, but this movie can't retain the essence of Sairat. The feel is missing in this romantic drama!! Second half is quite boring in few scenes!! Jahnvi kapoor is good as Parthavi but she should work on his acting skills.
• All in all, it is a good one time watch for its good first half. You may be love it if you haven't watched Sairat yet but you will be disappointed if you will watch it with high expectations.
